FC Barcelona Ready for First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
